Impacts: Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas along with locations adjacent to swollen creeks will persist. Some roads may remain closed early this morning.
Additional Details: - At 449 AM EDT, Department of Transportation reports multiple roadways closed due to flooding. Minor flooding is ongoing. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. While the rain has ended, creeks and streams will remain high through this morning and lingering flood waters will be slow to recede. Use caution when traveling early this morning as it is difficult to identify the dangers of flooding at night. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Roxboro, Concord, Surl, Bushy Fork, Bethel Hill, Mayo Reservoir, Hyco Lake, Hyco Marina and Moriah.
Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
