Description

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio TX has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Texa
S: South Fork San Gabriel River At Georgetown affecting Williamson County.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: South Fork San Gabriel River at Georgetown.
When: From this evening to tomorrow afternoon.
Impacts: At 9.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding reaches low areas of the flood plain with no significant damage. Lowest areas of the city park downtown are flooded.
Additional Details: - At 7:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 4.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 10.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 12.3 feet on 06/09/1997. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
