Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina Cape Fear River At Lillington affecting Harnett County. Deep River At Moncure affecting Chatham and Lee Counties.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Cape Fear River at Lillington.
When: Until early Wednesday morning.
Impacts: At 14.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. The boat launch ramp and wooden deck at The Riverside Restaurant are flooded. At 17.0 feet, Water threatens homes upstream on Riverside Hills Drive. At 19.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. The storm drains on the north bank are inundated and water reaches the water treatment plant. Homes on Riverside Hills Drive are flooded.
Additional Details: - At 8:28 AM EDT Monday the stage was 14.9 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.7 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

Action Recommandée

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/rah/rivers. The next statement will be issued this evening.
